Recruitment: Heritage Project Officer

We are excited to recruit for a passionate, empathetic, well-organised and resilient Heritage Project Officer to join our Policy and Public Affairs team at our Head Office in London, Islington.
We are interested in applications from candidates who are motivated and passionate about the rights of individuals faced with having to leave the UK, who understands the importance of capturing women’s voices and stories to ensure accurate historical representation and the value of Hibiscus’ heritage and has the ability to manage and direct key service delivery initiatives and projects within set timescales, and the knowledge and experience of working with in a research and heritage context.
As an organisation working on racial and gender justice and migrants’ rights Hibiscus is particularly keen to attract talent from Black and minoritised communities and those with lived experience of immigration restrictions, the criminal justice systems, and/or gender-based violence.
The successful candidate will develop and coordinate a year-long heritage project that celebrates Hibiscus’s 35th anniversary, establishes a legacy of our past, and helps shape our future work.
They will document Hibiscus’ heritage and create a timeline of the history of immigration and criminal justice policies and systems and their impact on black and migrant women, lead on collecting clients’ stories of immigration and connection with Hibiscus to create an Oral Histories series, and plan, develop and run a programme of events at our Women’s centre and other women’s centres and migrant centres in England in collaboration with a Hibiscus Client Project Team and colleagues.
