Hibiscus empowers and champions the rights of marginalised foreign national (FN); black, minority ethnic and refugee (BMER) women in prison and the community, those in detention and families facing removal.
With over 30 years’ experience we provide advocacy, support and specialist services to reduce isolation, facilitate rehabilitation and provide effective advocacy within the criminal justice and immigration systems. We empower our clients to make informed choices and positive changes to their situation. We support over 1,000 clients from over 120 countries each year.
We are looking for a CEO to lead Hibiscus through the next stage of our journey as we continue to develop innovative services, maximise our engagement and widen our reach. Our new CEO will put women at the heart of our services and champion diversity to ensure our crucial and much needed support is delivered to all who need it. Building on our solid reputation, the CEO will raise our profile whilst remaining politically sensitive. You will act as ambassador for Hibiscus, building impactful relationships with stakeholders to ensure our evidence and impact can change the systems that don’t work for those who are marginalised. You will also continue our track record of year-on-year growth, ensuring funding remains sustainable, with a diverse income portfolio, and inspire and support our staff team to develop their best potential.
We are looking for an inclusive and adaptable leader with CEO or senior director experience and a passion for social justice and eliminating inequalities. With sound strategic experience, experience of developing innovative services and knowledge of the women’s or criminal justice sector, you will be well practiced in influencing a variety of stakeholders to achieve lasting impact. With a demonstrable track record of growing and developing an organisation and a solid understanding of fundraising, you will possess strong leadership skills and be adapt at guiding, coaching and supporting others at all levels to maximise their potential. Most of all you will be driven to provide the best possible support to vulnerable foreign national and BMER clients.
Salary: £65,000 – £70,000 per annum
