In recognition of Anti-Slavery Day on the 18th October we have released a new six-part podcast series – Reclaiming Resistance
This series centres the voices and experiences of Black and minoritised migrant women affected by trafficking, VAWG and exploitation at the intersection of the UK’s immigration and criminal justice systems. Through recorded workshops, storytelling and interviews with experts in the sector, Reclaiming Resistance explores how women rebuild their lives and reclaim power in the face of state violence and systemic neglect.
The podcast features interviews with legal experts, caseworkers and policy advocates in the VAWG and Anti-Trafficking sector exploring survival, systemic violence, criminalisation, community support and specialist care. The podcast also features sessions from our creative writing, singing and gardening workshops, attended by the women we support at our women’s centre. This series highlights the importance of specialist, by-and-for services that allow women the breathing space and support they need to recover.
You can listen and subscribe to the podcast on , Spotify, Soundcloud and YouTube Music.
This project is dedicated to the Black and minoritised migrant women who have experienced trafficking and exploitation and who’s voices we don’t hear enough – not just as victims or statistics – but as survivors, artists and advocates in their own right.
We would like to thank Trust for London for their support for our Anti-trafficking policy work.
