Today, alongside Latin American Women’s Aid, Safety4Sisters North West, and Rights of Women, we are launching a new campaign to ensure that the recently published Freedom from Violence and Abuse: A Cross-Government Strategy includes meaningful protection for Black and minoritised migrant victim-survivors. No borders. No barriers. Just protection.   

As part of this campaign, we have carried out an in‑depth analysis of the government’s framework to tackle violence against women and girls (VAWG). Drawing on our expertise as frontline organisations supporting women with insecure immigration status, we have developed 12 recommendations to ensure the strategy does not discriminate against migrant women.

With the support of more than 50 organisations from the VAWG, migration, modern slavery and Criminal Justice sectors, we are calling on you to help build momentum and ensure protection is available to all women.
